DAV Minnesota, DAV Chapter 28 Mayo Southeast, Olmsted County Veteran Services, and Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) seek to provide an extended retreat for women veterans and servicemembers to interact, solve problems, and engage with a larger community that has shared experiences.

This retreat will provide our women veterans and servicemembers a stress-free indoor/outdoor environment that will allow them to focus on camaraderie, teamwork and finding healing through the process of overcoming personal and physical obstacles through rewarding wilderness experiences.

This retreat will encompass:

  • Building a supportive community with other women veterans
  • Facilitate genuine discussions on readjustment, transition and challenges facing women veterans
  • Re-energize and reinvigorate spirits through adventures and challenges in a beautiful natural environment
  • Reduce the feeling of isolation

Retreat Details:

Retreat participants should arrive to check in at the retreat location between the hours of 4:00pm and 6:00pm on Friday, January 31st, 2020. All lodging and meals for the weekend will be provided at no cost to each participant; however, travel expenses are not covered. Each participant is responsible for their own travel to and from the retreat location. Due to the nature of the retreat, no guests or children are allowed to attend.

Rooms will be shared with 2+ participants, depending on room size. If you are attending with a friend or group, please indicate so during registration so you can be roomed together. Lodging is indoors in a resort lodge style setting. Rooms are furnished with bedding, microwave, mini-fridge, private bathroom, towels and a hair dryer. The facility is accessible for those with limited mobility. Please pack for your dietary needs as we may not be able to accommodate all.

Please be prepared and pack for your medical conditions, allergies, sensitivies, etc.

Comfortable, casual attire such as jeans, sweats, sweaters, sweatshirts, and comfortable shoes are acceptable. Snowpants, boots, winter coats, hats, and gloves are required for snow tubing. Please pack for the weather if you plan to snow tube or spend any time outdoors.

Snow tubing must be booked (and will be paid for by the facilitator) at the time of booking. Please only select snow tubing if you plan to actually do so. Please do not attempt to snow tube if you know it will it exacerbate your disabilities.

Pets are not allowed, except for licensed service animals with advance approval.

This retreat has a limited capacity. If we are full when you attempt to register, you may email the facilitator to be added to a waiting list.

**NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON IRONWOOD SPRINGS GROUNDS.**
